The ES20 is Polk's flagship bookshelf speaker — built for anyone who wants hi-fi, room-filling sound without committing to a pair of floorstanding towers.
Each speaker pairs a 6.5" woofer with a 1" Terylene dome tweeter through a Dynamically Balanced acoustic array, so sound stays clear and detailed no matter where you're sitting in the room — not just directly in front of the speakers. Polk's patented Power Port technology shapes airflow inside the cabinet for deeper, more controlled bass with less distortion than a standard vented design — several reviewers have said the low-end alone feels like there's a small subwoofer in the room.
Hi-Res Audio Certified and Dolby Atmos & DTS:X compatible, the ES20 handles high-resolution streaming from services like Tidal or Apple Music just as confidently as it anchors a surround-sound home theatre setup. The cabinet is built from rigid, acoustically inert MDF to minimise internal resonance, meaning less "boxy" colouration and a cleaner sound overall. An anti-diffraction magnetic grille (removable for a sleeker look) reduces sonic interference, while gold-plated 5-way binding posts give you a direct, lossless connection with any amplifier or AV receiver.
Compact enough for a shelf, a stand, or a media unit — but engineered to deliver the kind of detail and bass most bookshelf speakers can't. It's the ideal entry point into serious hi-fi, or the perfect surround pairing for an existing Polk system.
