• This is the muscle behind the Michi separates system. The S5 is a dedicated power amplifier — it takes the refined signal from a preamp (like the Michi P5 Series 2) and turns it into raw, controlled energy for your speakers. Pair the two together and you get a true high-end two-box system where each component does one job and does it exceptionally well. 

  And the S5 does its job with serious authority: 500 watts per channel into 8 ohms, and up to 800 watts per channel into 4 ohms. In plain terms, this amp has more than enough current in reserve to control almost any speaker on the market — including famously power-hungry designs like electrostatics and planar-magnetic speakers — without ever sounding strained, thin, or congested, even at high volumes. 

  That power comes from a true dual-monoblock design: two completely separate amplifier channels, each with its own oversized, custom-built toroidal transformer, so the left and right channels never compete for current. A bank of capacitors storing 188,000 µF of energy feeds 32 high-current output transistors, giving the S5 the instantaneous power reserves for deep, fast, well-controlled bass and confident dynamic swings — the difference between music that just plays and music that hits. 

  Connectivity is simple and serious: balanced XLR and RCA inputs, dual binding posts for bi-wiring, and Ethernet, RS232, and 12V trigger support for custom installs. A front-panel display with power-meter and spectrum-analyzer views adds a striking visual layer to every listening session.
