Marantz AV 30 – Reference AV Processor / Preamplifier (Black) Description:

The Marantz AV 30 is the accessible entry point into true separates-based home cinema — bringing reference-level processing, video switching, and sound quality to a home theatre without an all-in-one receiver, at a more attainable step in the Marantz range.

Here's the simple explanation: rather than powering your speakers directly like a receiver does, the AV 30 acts purely as the "brain" of your system. It decodes every movie and music format, switches your video sources, and sends an exceptionally clean signal out to a separate power amplifier (Marantz's own AMP 30 is a natural match). This separation of processing and power is exactly what home cinema enthusiasts choose when they're ready to step up from a receiver — it keeps the delicate audio processing completely isolated from the power stage, giving you a noticeably cleaner, more precise result.

The AV 30 processes up to 11.4 channels, giving you the scope for expansive Dolby Atmos, DTS:X Pro or Auro-3D layouts — including 7.4.4 setups with height speakers for full three-dimensional immersion. Seven 8K-ready HDMI inputs and three outputs (with eARC) keep it ready for next-generation consoles and displays, while four independent subwoofer outputs let you fine-tune bass precisely across the room. Audyssey MultEQ XT32 room correction comes standard, with Dirac Live available as an upgrade for those chasing even tighter acoustic accuracy.

Hand-tuned in Japan by a Marantz Sound Master, the AV 30 uses discrete HDAM circuitry and a copper-plated chassis to deliver the brand's celebrated warm, detailed sound. Built-in HEOS streaming, AirPlay 2 and Roon Ready support bring your entire music library into the system effortlessly, all wrapped in the iconic Marantz porthole design.

For anyone ready to graduate from a receiver into true reference-grade home cinema, the AV 30 is the ideal foundation to build from.
