As lovers of HEOS, we at Sound X Perience were pretty shattered to hear the staple diet of many a South African Home Theatre System, the Denon HEOS was being discontinued. Shattered, that is, until we heard the replacement – Move over HEOS, welcome, Denon Home.
The Denon Home is everything we loved about HEOS, and a little more – call it a touch of magic perhaps – but there is just something there that wasn’t there before. Still making use of HEOS technology, these speakers play all your music wirelessly, with HiFi quality sound, in any room in your home. The devices also allow you to stream music from popular services, as well as make use of quick pre-selections, with just one gentle touch.
A beautiful wireless Home Theatre system has never been easier and more seamless than it is now with Denon Home. Fully compatible with Amazon Alexa, Google Play and Apple AirPlay, it is everything you didn’t know you needed.
A unique feature of these products is their ability to be controlled without the use of a smartphone. With the help of three quick select buttons on the speaker itself, you can easily store your favourite Internet radio stations to enjoy whenever you want. A simple double tap on the PAUSE/PLAY button will skip you to the next song while three consecutive taps will return you to the previous track or the beginning of the current track.

Also unique is the ability to begin your music with only the slightest touch. The Home series features a new, proximity sensing interface that is activated as your hand approaches the device, with the buttons lighting up, allowing for full, seamless control.
Built-in HEOS technology enables endless opportunities and options for the Home range. Each room can have its own sound, or additional speakers can be joined together. Add soundbars, network players and AV receivers to create the ultimate Multi-Room Audio system.
Denon Home 150, Denon Home 250 and Denon Home 350
The Denon Home 150 replaces the traditional Denon HEOS 1. It is the smallest in the range, but don’t let that fool you into believing that it packs no punch, in fact, this little speaker punches way above its weight.
The Denon Home 250 replaces the Denon HEOS 5 and is mid-range in size, while still delivering the goods in the sound reproduction department.
The Denon Home 350 replaces the Denon HEOS 7. They call this one big and breath taking, and there is absolutely no question as to why.
Like every Denon, the Denon Home 150, Denon Home 250 and Denon Home 350 are built to deliver best-in-class audio quality. With advanced acoustic hardware, expertly tuned digital signal processing and premium drivers, the Denon Home series certainly delivers the clearest highs and deepest lows in its class.
Improvements to the App
The Denon Home Series will still make use of the Denon HEOS app, but major improvements have been made to the app, in conjunction with the launch of the Denon Home Series. Updates have been improved, and will take roughly 1/3 of the time they previously did, while small tweaks here and there have been designed to improve the overall user experience.
Denon Home voice activation
An inescapable expectation in the modern AV market is that devices be compatible with voice command applications. The Denon Home is entirely compatible with all popular voice assistants. By using a smart speaker or your phone, or by simply speaking your commands to Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant and Apple Siri, you can adjust the volume on your device, skip to the next song, and so much more.
They don’t just sound great
We often talk about the aesthetic appeal of products, and Denon really has gone a long way in producing a modern styling for the Home range. They are elegant and simplistic enough to catch your attention, but not enough to take away from your immaculately designed room.
The Denon Home series features a water and stain resistant wrap around cloth, which enables flexibility of placement, even making kitchen and bathroom placement a viable option.
Sound X Perience has long been a Denon fan, and we are very excited about the Denon Home Series. If you want to see them for yourself, why not pop into our store and give them a listen. Sold on them already? Visit our online store here to order yours!
